CARicature called life

Children love cars. They can go wheeeee and stick their head out of the window and reach the ice cream parlour in record time (Am taking the fact an adult is driving as assumed).

Teenagers love cars. Its chill..its thrill..its cool..its hip..ok..i gotta get a grip.In short..speed rules and your chariot of fire can make you go from Raju to Rocking raj in few fleeting seconds.

Adults love cars. They can go wheeeee and stick their head out of the window and reach the ice cream parlour in record time :)

But seriously..a beautifully styled car can, in the words of some learned people "take your breath away" and "knock you off your feet".

Now i recently suffered from an overdose of car designing. No, general people (thats an erudite term for a layman) that sadly doesn't deal with car design ( not entirely sad cos i dont know abc of that in the first place).

It has to do with designing the floor, fuel tank mountings, long members....annnnd i think i have lost you here.

So in short..overdose happened..me got thinking about cars..me liked what i was thinking..me got writing this post.

In a weirdly bizarre sense..wouldn't you agree...cars are like us humans. Or to put it more precisely...we are like cars.(let me finish..then you can ROTFL or whatever else you might want to do with your hair).
Now seriously...atleast give it a thought.

Firstly there is the "Look".The cutlines..the sharp angles..the smooth curves..the aggressive grills..

There is a cute spark..an avuncular Ambassador a manly scorpio...an aggressive city..a seductive linea( just look at the bumper line...its an italian beauty alright). And thats just the indian market cars.

Hmm..colour matters.

gloss does too..

cuts scratches and dents are ghastly..

facelifts must for upgrades.

paint peel offs are arrrggghh.

It has to be desirable..

It has to steal sighs and oohs and aahhs

It has to get you excited

Its Got to look better that the competition.

But is just looking good enough??

The engine...the power..the bhp..the revving..the braking...the acceleration..the smoothness..the efficiency.

Its hidden cos its BIG and has way too many valves.

It doesn't look good.

It should function efficiently..else the car dies.

It should just do its work and not make much noise.

And if it goes out of control or has problems...it sure is difficult to recover.

Different set of rules govern its functioning.

It needs to be oiled..needs to be used..else it starts picking up rust...

It gives the drive..the push

But is just looking good and performing well enough??

(here comes the good part...i work for this bit)

The Chassis..the frame the strength..the stiffness..the sturdiness..the resilience.

No matter how good it looks..it doesn't really matter to the cow.

It also doesn't matter to the cow how quickly you go from 0-60.

AND it really really doesn't matter to the cow how quickly the pain will spread through your body when you crash against the "where did it come from" tree trying to avoid...who else "The Cow".

But ouch..it will matter to you.

You can't avoid accidents...but the structural strength of the "beautifully powerful" car is the thing that will save you from the kiss of death.

It is the thing that will give you stability on the winding or sudden turns.

It is the thing that will absorb the road undulations and bumps.

And it is THE thing that will help you maneuver through the ups and downs.

Hmm..but do we really have to give more importance to one over another..looks,heart and character?? :)
