Mirror or mirage

How do we know what is our true passion?
When does movies graduate from being a past time to a profession option?

Is something that makes you happy really what you should pursue as a career?

If thats the case..why is'nt the world full of dancers, painters, singers and artists?

When do you know its time to surrender in the battle against pragmatism?

How do you know if it should remain just a hobby?

Why is it difficult to get an honest reply from yourself?

How do you know what you are staring at?
Or what is staring back at you?

A Mirage or A Mirror!

  1. True passion is pretty simple know what it is. I guess it's what we think about doing all the time. It's what we dream about. (mostly day dreams!) It could be pretty difficult to escape; and yet we do so all the time instead of chasing the dreams.

Hmm.. Only if I knew what I'm talking about. I better try with what I do know. But seriously; I know what I passionately want. I wanted to draw. I wanted to paint and make things. So after engineering I decided to go for design. But Now that I'm pursuing my 'dream career'; I've come to realize that it's not really that simple. I'm doing stuff which doesn't make me happy. I'm not honestly making anything that I believe in; rather I'm making what my boss agrees to. [.sigh.] I don't want to go on with that...

I understand what you are talking about. I would say it shouldn't remain a hobby. You can hone your skills even while you are at 'diving beneath cars and trucks'. ;) Better take small steps (nice blog, by the way). And take steps all the time.

I know, I know; I'm not supposed to blabber about things that I'm confused at myself. But I do have answer to one question of yours. Yes, we should. Yes, we should take the thing that makes us happy as a career. Probably that's what makes it a career. Otherwise it's just another job. And why isn't the world full of such people? I have no idea. This world is too big for us to generalize I hope!

I don't know how to get an honest answer from ourselves; may be we have to figure it out ourselves.
