Small little things

I guess you have come across these type of lists in various mags, websites and email fwds. Well this is mine..not as long..but something that makes me smile everytime

Btw..the you is me ( i can hear the d-uh's loud and clear..but still...aise hi )

• When you are given your 1.5 year old niece to put to sleep. You rock her a little..sing a lullaby you think you would have enjoyed as toddler, rub her back and hope that you are atleast making it easy for your sister to come and do it the right way. And she actually falls asleep..right there in your arms.

• Going to visit your sister after a long time in her new place. And discovering that she went to the grocery store the day before to get your favourite eatables, ice creams you like, tea you love making (and she dislikes having) and bought some new books for you to read.

• Getting a bus (with a seat to spare) back to your place the minute you reach the bus stop.

• Having a bad hair day and the resulting messy mop actually looking "not bad".

• Pestering your mom to let you make a dish for the first time and the end result not disappointing her.

• Managing to pull off a dificult step during the dance.

• Calling up anti-Federer friends after the French Open finals and simply saying " I told you so".

• Seeing a dragon shaped cloud turn into a fish against an impossibly beautiful blue sky.

• Putting your friends's tips on "How to handle certain kind of people" in practise finally.

• Finding a perfect line to end your poem and getting that rhyming word (without the mental trauma).

• Seeing a kid learning how to walk in her "pooi pooi" shoes. ("pooi pooi" being the sound the shoe makes)

• Finally finding the right jeans and that too at an amazing price.

• Discussing Roark and train journeys over messages with a friend.

• Getting a call from you sister the moment you are about to dial her number.

• Writing this while its raining outside..and all is beautiful :)
